Tremaglio Leads Brookfield LAX to 3rd Straight Victory
Boys lacrosse bests New Milford before heading to Amity Saturday.
In one of the more exciting games of the young 2013 High School lacrosse season, Brookfield beat New Milford Tuesday evening 11-8 at Brookfield Stadium. Each team traded goals from the opening faceoff leading to a 7-7 deadlock at half time.
The Bobcats’ tough defense and rapid ball movement in the second half inched them ahead 10-8 going into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter was a defensive showdown until freshman Andrew Collins scored from his knees, dodging between three defenders to put Brookfield up by 3 with 2 minutes to play, sealing the victory for the Bobcats.
Tim Tremaglio lead all scorers with 6 points (2g, 4a) and provided outstanding field leadership throughout the game from his mid-field position. Dane Heckman’s 3 goals and Liam Clancy’s 2 goals contributed to the victory. Shane Maden, JT Redd, Aidan Moores and Collins all added 1. Gus Warner added 3 assists.

Jacob Maddox had an active day in goal with 12 saves and 3 ground balls. John Vitti (5 gb, 4 ta) and Joe Dixon (4 gb, 2 ta) anchored the defense with 9 ground balls and 6 takeaways between them.
Brookfield travels to Amity Regional at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday for an out of conference game.
