Bobcats Fill Out All-SWC Teams
Brian Kelly helps Connecticut win Governor's Cup, Chris Ackell has strong showing at Nationals, Danielle DeMarco and Felicia Lennon honored at Class L All-State dinner.
Graduating senior Brian Kelly, who was Mr. Versatile on the football field this year, was back on the gridiron this weekend playing in the 13th annual Governor's Cup at Fontana Field in Southington on Saturday.
Kelly helped the Nutmeggers win their ninth straight Governor's Cup over Rhode Island by icing the game with two touchdown receptions in the second half. Connecticut scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to earn a dominating 37-6 victory.
A week previous, graduating senior Chris Ackell traveled to Greensboro, N.C. to compete at the New Balance Nationals Track & Field Meet. Ackell, the Connecticut champion, placed 11th in the Championship Division with a throw of 182-5 in the Hammer Throw.

Two underclassmen, sophomores Danielle DeMarco and Felicia Lennon, were honored at the Connecticut High School Coaches Association All-State dinner. DeMarco and Lennon were selected to the Class L All-State team for their performances this year that helped the Lady Bobcats win the SWC championship.
DeMarco, Lennon and Ackell were part of a large group of Brookfield athletes who made All-SWC teams this spring.
