Makeover for Chalk Hill, Now Sandy Hook Elementary

The Monroe Police Department shared a photo of the building now being used at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The children, teachers and administrators of Sandy Hook Elementary School had their first day of classes in Monroe on Thursday morning. Newtown Supt. of Schools Janet Robinson said they will be in the former Chalk Hill School building for the rest of the academic year.

Monroe Police Lt. Keith White and Newtown Lt. George Sinko addressed the media at a brief press conference held off site this afternoon, in the parking lot of Wolfe Park on Cutlers Farm Road.

The two-part video covers the press conference in its entirety. The photos show the new Sandy Hook Elementary School in Monroe and another photo of how it looked when it was Chalk Hill Middle School.
