Cleaning the Attic After 52 Years!

Over the weekend my husband and I attempted to clean the attic. We have accumulated a lot of things in the 52 years that we've been married. I found a box of old greeting cards that I had saved and in the bottom of the box were love letters that we had written each other before we were married. It brought back fond memories of the anticipation of receiving mail, especially from a loved one.

I know that today's communication is so much faster, better and amazing. But I really miss getting that personal mail from someone. Today, all we seem to receive is tons of junk mail and bills. I guess you could call me old fashioned but I still like getting greeting cards in the mail and not the e-cards that are quick and easy. There is something so personal about opening a card from someone on your birthday or anniversary. It means they took the time to go to the store and pick one especially for you from them.

So next time you're tempted to send an e-card, go to the store and find a special occasion card for that special person.
