Debris Pickup Continues Through Friday

Last chance for curbside pickup from Winter Storm Alfred.

Curbside debris pickup will continue through the end of this week on town roads and is expected to finish on state roads “in and around December 15,” First Selectman Bill Davidson said Monday.

Debris removal on town roads "will be done by Friday, most likely," Davidson said, "And we will not be coming back."

The pickup was organized in , which knocked down branches through Brookfield and the state and caused . Private contractors were , with 75 percent of the cost to be reimbursed through FEMA funds.

Davidson said Monday that the town’s brush pile, located between Town Hall and the Pocono Road firehouse, will be open this Saturday and Saturday, December 17 before closing for the season.
