Brookfield Voters Pass 2014-15 Budgets by Wide Margins

Both budgets pass by larger margin than residents who voted against.

Brookfield voters approved the 2014-15 budget proposed in Tuesday’s referendum by a wide margin, passing the 2.38 percent spending increase by a margin of 1,223 votes.

The final unofficial tally Tuesday night had the education budget passing 2,066-843, a 1,223-vote margin, and the municipal budget passing by 1,296 votes, 2,093-824.

On the non-binding advisory questions, 1,079 voters said the municipal budget was too high, while 414 said it was too low and 1,213 said it was adequate. For the education budget, 827 said it was too high, 1,338 said it was too low and 591 said it was adequate.
