Friends Confirm ID: Body Found Tuesday Is Missing Photographer

Body of missing photographer Eric Langlois found in Lake Lillinonah.

A body discovered in Lake Lillinonah in Bridgewater just before noon on Tuesday was identified Thursday as missing New Milford photographer and Brookfield High School grad Eric Langlois, who went missing while searching for his bike in Lovers Leap State Park one week ago, according to reports.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has yet to confirm the identification, however friend and fellow photographer Nicole Taylor posted an “official update” on the “Help Find Eric Langlois” Facebook page stating, “The body that was found in Lake Lillinonah was in fact that of our friend.”

“Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time,” she added.

According to DEEP Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police, a person reported seeing a body in the water at 11:40 a.m. while standing on a dock at 100 Lake Lillinonah Road North in Bridgewater, across the lake from Lovers Leap Gorge, where Langlois was believed to have gone missing June 11.

EnCon Police, with the help of New Milford and Bridgewater volunteer fire companies, recovered the body from the water and transported it to the Chief Medical Examiner for identification.

According to The News-Times, the Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death an accidental drowning.
