Jeanne-Marie Effrece, 70

October 04, 1942 - November 30, 2012

Jeanne-Marie Effrece, 70, of Brookfield, cherished wife of Frank Effrece, died at Danbury Hospital on Friday, November 30. She was born in New York City on October 4, 1942, daughter of the late William and Jane (Hunt) Tharp.

While her children were young, she worked as a school bus driver for the Brookfield Public School System, she later went on to work as a cook for Brookfield High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a merchandiser for Costco in Brookfield. She was instrumental in establishing the Girls Softball League in Brookfield.

Jeanne was a loving and devoted mother who volunteered in many areas her sons were involved in, including serving as past president of the Brookfield Pop Warner Football. She was also an active parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church and supported many of their fundraising efforts.

In addition to her beloved husband of 49 years, Frank, she will be sadly missed by her three sons, Col. Frank Effrece, USAF, and his wife, Karen of Huntsville, AL, Jay Effrece and his wife, Mary of Pottstown, PA, and William Effrece and his wife, Gina of Wolcott; and her seven grandchildren, Franki-Marie, Emily, Cassidy, Kiersten, Caden, Carter and Carrigan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Cremation will follow at the direction of the family.

The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Tuesday between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
