Former Brookfield School Psychologist Geraldine Wilson, 80

Geraldine O’Connor Wilson, 80, died Saturday, Nov. 23 after a long illness. She was the wife of Richard T. Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson was born Oct. 18, 1933 in Hartford, the daughter of the late Dennis and Florence (Sheehan) O’Connor. She graduated from Marymount College with a BA in psychology and from Southern Connecticut University with a MA and diploma in advanced studies.

She worked at Southbury Training School and in the Waterbury public schools before settling in the Brookfield school system, where she worked as a school psychologist for over 24 years. She was very active in the Connecticut Association of School Psychologists.

Besides her husband of 55 years, she leaves her four daughters, Susan Lyle (Rick), Deirdre Wilson, Moira Griffin and Megan Wilson; her grandchildren, Andrew Lyle, Chris and Justin Griffin, Taylor and Alex Verbickas; and two great-grandchildren.

She is pre-deceased by two sisters, Barbara Egan and Denise Griffin, and a brother, James O’Connor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury.

No calling hours. Burial is private.
