More must be done to keep our children safe.

The grassroots, bi-partisan organization MARCH FOR CHANGE is providing a platform for people to rally in Hartford on February 14th demanding safer gun laws in the state of CT.

Since the Newtown tragedy there has been a groundswell of support for this movement.  That said, as an organization we need support in our community in order to ensure the critical mass that will enable change in the state house. We are not looking to ban guns, we are simply looking to enact laws that will make gun ownership in our community safer for our children.

The analogy being made to our group is that of the MADD model; it took a vocal group of angry and energized moms, demanding change in the drinking/driving laws to get the concept of a "designated driver" into the vernacular.  We believe we can change the conversation, change the culture, change the laws.

We believe this is our opportunity to truly make a difference for our children’s future. To register to take a Bus to Hartford, for directions, and for more informationgo to the MARCH FOR CHANGE website:www.marchforchange.org

Its important the people learn how to treat our flag, many of our veterans have made the ultimateRead More sacrifice for our country and flag. Don't leave it out all night long, don't drag it on the ground while putting it up etc.

I would recommend supporting an increase similar to Ridgefield's which was under 2% (1.97%). If aRead More community like Ridgefield can perform at high levels with an increase under 2%, the Board of Education, in asking for almost twice that is openly admitting that they have installed inefficient management in school administration. Further, the sewer system on the referendum will require municipal funding since it is backed by the full faith and credit of the town of Brookfield and reduces the town's borrowing ability - the advertisement for which indicated it would not impact municipal funding.
