First Selectman Debate: Paying for Paving and Pensions

Question 2: What's the best way to pay for road repairs?

Brookfield’s First Selectman candidates, Howard Lasser (D) and Bill Tinsley (R), met for a debate Monday night, sponsored by the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.

The third question was addressed first to Tinsley, asking the best way to fund long-term road maintenance.

The candidates used their first 3 minutes to talk about bonding and increasing revenues, while the 1-minute rebuttals strayed into pension funding.

See the candidates’ opening remarks and views on economic development and renovations to Huckleberry Hill Elementary School.
