Grief and Healing are Timeless

A 2,500-year-old prayer.

More than 25 centuries ago the Greek philosopher Aeschylus wrote these words that seem to reach across time to Sandy Hook.

And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.
Aeschylus

C.D., for many reasons, those words you've quoted here are timely, and good. There is truly nothing as debilitating as a pained heart devoid of life, nor as fulfilling as Gods grace.

Mel,
I agree. It is by the grace of god that we all live. Those words ring true and help quiet the pain of the loss of our children...at least for me. I can't speak for others.

UPDATE on Norma, lost dog in Newtown: Carolee Mason (Newtown's Animal Control Officer) is watchingRead More her from a distance at the moment, armed with catfood to tempt her closer. The foster mom is on her way there again, this time with chicken, and Laura is on her way with hamburger. Problem is, this dog is VERY shy, skittish and quick to run away.
