Brookfield Booster Club Year in Review

The Brookfield Booster Club ended the 2012-13 year with our annual Senior Athlete Awards ceremony.  The ceremony was to honor all senior varsity athletes, those with 8 Varsity letters (15 students) and 14 special scholarship recipients.   The scholarship winners were: 

• Athletic Coordinator Spirit Award: Madeline Smart and Matthew Moen
• SWC Leadership:  Paulina Harron and Billy Hunt
• CIAC Scholar Athlete: Lorraine Piccorelli and Jonathan Leonard
• Frank Gavel Sportsmanship Award:  Felicia Lennon and Tre’ Gause
• Robert Brown Leadership Award: Danielle De Marco and Maxwell Klein
• Senior Scholar Athlete: Teresa Hegarty and Jacob Maddox
• Athlete of the Year:  Djenne Parris and Austin Pacific

The Booster Club is tremendously proud of all the BHS student-athletes and honored to sponsor and fund this event, these scholarships and recognitions.  Pictures of the award winners are posted on our facebook page, Brookfield High School All Sports Booster Club.

To share other ways the Booster Club has been a benefit to the Athletic program at Brookfield this year, our major spend categories are outlined below:

•  Plaques/Gym Banners:  $7.5K
• Individual Team and Program Grants:  $7.8K
• Sr. Award Event & Scholarships:  $4.4K

We closed the year planning a new fundraiser, Sunset Sizzler 5K, which is scheduled for 8/2 at 7 pm.  In the spirit of our mission, we enabled and encouraged all teams to get involved and raise funds via this centrally organized event.  Teams will retain 100% of any funds they raise.  Come out and run (or walk) with us!  Register at aratrace.com.

The Booster Club is a non-profit parent organization and will continue to grow and support the BHS Athletic program.  Consider getting involved, we accept both individual and corporate membership.
