Road Closure This Week While Historic Home Moves Down the Road

A section of Laurel Hill Road will be closed for 2 days while a house is moved down the street.

Laurel Hill Road, between Old Route 7 and Station Road, will be closed to through traffic on Wednesday and Thursday, July 16 and 17. Dakota Partners and their subcontractor will be moving and relocating the historical 1770 era house from its current location to a new plot at the northern end of the property on Laurel Hill Road.

The house is being relocated as a part of the construction project for the 3-building, 72-unit “Residences at Laurel Hill” which is currently underway. The house will be moved off of its current foundation and relocated onto a newly constructed foundation down the road.

The move and resetting is expected to take the better part of 2 days and Laurel Hill Road will be closed to through traffic Wednesday and overnight into Thursday to allow for completion of the relocation project.

Residents and emergency vehicles will be able to access homes from either the northern or southern ends of the closure area. No other traffic will be permitted to pass, as the roadway will be completely blocked at times.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to the Brookfield Police Department at 203-775-2575.
