American Military Forum: Marines In China's Boxer Rebellion

As part of their American Military Forum, the Brookfield Museum and Historical Society will host a multimedia presentation Monday, July 8, on the United States’ military participation in the Boxer Rebellion.

Newtown resident David Montgomery, a former U.S. Marine officer and Vietnam veteran with a lifelong interest in military history will be presenting, beginning at 7:30 p.m. He will give a historical overview of the anti-foreign and anti-Christian rebellion that took place at the dawn of the 20th century in China.

Montgomery will focus on the role the United States military forces played as a member of a multinational force to protect American citizens caught up in the rebellion.

Following his presentation, complimentary refreshments will be served. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

The Museum is located at 165 Whisconier Road (Intersection of Routes 25 and 133) in Brookfield Center. For more information on upcoming events of the Brookfield Historical Society log onto BrookfieldCTHistory.org.
