Supt. Bivona's $13k Merit Increase
While the Superintendent has done an amazing job improving the quality of the town's education system; I am remiss as to how the Board of Ed can stand behind a $13,000 merit increase in salary, while parents are still asked to buy school supplies, and our schools forego security enhancements and upgrades due to budget constraints. Of course, I am not privy to the details of the negotiations, aside from submitting a FOIA request - but in times such as these, I wish there was more transparency with how tax dollars are allocated to the top level administrators. Let it be known, I respect Mr. Bivona's tireless dedication, and I would imagine he is well regarded by the board members; however I was surprised to see this in my work paper research.
