WWII, Korea Vet Raymond Burr, Sr, 87

November 14, 1925, through January 29, 2013

A memorial service for Raymond C. Burr, Sr. will be held on Saturday, May 11, at Newbury Church in Brookfield at 2 p.m.

Mr. Burr, formerly of Brookfield, died on Jan. 29 in Vero Beach, FL.

Born in Brookfield on Nov. 14, 1925, he attended schools in Brookfield and Newtown, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict and worked as a salesman for Sippin Energy Products in Monroe before retiring to Sebastian, FL, in 1996.

Mr. Burr was active in the Masons, the Shriners and the VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Burr; sons Raymond Burr, Jr. and William Burr; stepson Michael Norton; stepdaughter Linda Norton; brothers Donald Burr, Sr. and John Burr; sisters Marilyn Ober and Marjorie Carmody; and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence Burr, Sr. and Helen Burr, and his brothers Lawrence Burr, Jr. and Phillip Burr.

Burial will be at Lands End Cemetery in Newtown.
