Prospective GOP Candidates Raise Over $500K in Bids for Governor
Four candidates raise more than $100,000 each.
April 10 marked the deadline for Connecticut’s 2014 candidates to file their campaign finance reports with the State Elections Enforcement Commission (SEEC), including the seven Republicans vying for the party’s nomination for governor.
The first-quarter campaign filings show 2010 Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley as the lead fundraiser, banking $131,511.
State Sen. John McKinney (R-28) and Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton follow close behind with just over $122,600 and $120,000, respectively.
Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti rounds out the top earners with just over $110,500.
Foley For CT is also the biggest spender in the race to-date, recording $75,615.13 in paid expenditures. (The Foley campaign also has $6,178.53 in unpaid expenses as of the April 10 filing.)
