Let's see...one has an illegal…Read More drug in their house: (1) throw it in the garbage (where it certainly will not help they environment); (2) flush it down the toilet (ditto) ; (3) sell it and make money (certainly will not help the buyer); or (4) turn it in to the police (oops, this option not available).

Glad to see such a program as this "drug take back. I only wish that it could include…Read More non-prescription drugs as well. Good sense in the use of prescription drugs would always be prudent. Looking around, we can all observe folks behind the wheel any where we travel who are obviously not following the cautions on those labels, esp. "do not operate machinery or vehicles while using this..." Also, I would mention the unauthorized use of prescriptions that are carelessly left in medicine cabinets for children - and others - to find and "experiment" with. Just this morning, I heard on
radio that a commercial airline pilot was drug-tested and found to have been using marihuana! After being fired, his union fought to have him rehired. I do not know the outcome. His argument was that he used it for pain, but was never under the influence of the drug when he flew a plane. How about a pilot, or a doctor or train engineer, for example, on anti-depressants or strong pain-killers performing their duties? Could one be excused for those things? Same thing goes for alcohol. It can be argued that what a person does on his or her own leisure time is of no importance to anyone else. It might be interesting to see what kind of slants some of you might put on this question. Maybe a super-star pilot, doctor, or other could be responsible enough to smoke pot or use prescriptions off duty in moderation, and still be able to look out for the safety and well-being of others. Maybe. Maybe...
