Don't Forget Dad This Father's Day!

June is a busy time of year with graduations, weddings, showers, Christenings and end of the year school celebrations. But don't let yourself be too busy to forget the one who taught you to ride a bike, tie your shoes and said "yes" when mom just said "no." Yes, dear old dad.

Let's face it, not many had Ward Cleaver or Mike Brady as a dad.  Some grew up without a father or were raised by a step-father, grandparent, or uncle.  But if you were lucky enough to have a man in your life who took care of you, take this day to let him know you care.

But what could we possibly get him that he doesn't already have? The best Father's Day gift we could give our dads is the gift of love, thanks, and time.  He already has enough golf shirts and ties. But if that's his thing, Brookfield has plenty of places to pick one up.

Try these local Brookfield retailers:

  • Is your dad a vinyl junkie? Try Gerosa Records.
  • For a gift certificate to the Green Bubbles Car Spa click here.
  • How about a nice relaxing massage? Massage Envy is just the place.
  • What about some pro audio for his car? Sounds Incredible will hook you up!
  • Does he like to jam on his guitar or did he always want to try? Check out Guitar Hangar.
  • Go to Wesco if sports is his thing.
Looking to take dad out for a bite to eat? Check out these Brookfield eateries:

  • John's Best has delicious calamari, chicken parm, seafood, pizza and more. Click here for their menu. Service, taste and price make this a top choice.
  • If your dad loves a big, huge, messy sandwich then Al's Cookout's got you covered. Try their pulled pork sandwich and ask for extra napkins. It will be bigger than dad's head and comes stabbed with a big steak knife (so don't get out of line!). Add sweet potato fries on the side and your dad is sure to be napping before you can say, "Carb Coma!"
  • Is steak and potatoes more dad's speed? Then try The Hearth. According to Trip Advisor's reviews, the restaurant has a reputation for a mostly older clientele, but don't let that scare you away. We had dinner there and the steak is delicious and reasonably priced. There's top sirloin, stuffed scrod, stuffed chicken breast and more!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there, we love you!
