United Way Day of Caring Includes Projects in Brookfield, 13 Other Towns

Local businesses and United Way of Western Connecticut team up to help Brookfield and other towns in Northern Fairfield and Litchfield Counties.

On Wednesday, June 8, 600 volunteers from 28 local businesses and corporations will show their “community unity” by taking part United Way of Western Connecticut’s 17th Annual Days of Caring, including 55 volunteers working on six projects in Brookfield.

Close to 50 different projects will take place to benefit 40 human services agencies within the 14-town area of Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield Counties. These annual projects allow local nonprofits to spend their limited resources on mission driven activities, and the value of time and donations to the greater Danbury and New Milford region typically exceeds $150,000 in one day.

In Brookfield:

YMCA Camp Greenknoll and Ability Beyond Disability will partner with Branson, Praxair and Union Savings Bank to work on interior and exterior needs at the Y and a home on North Pleasant Rise.
