Garden Club Plant Sale

Garden Club holds another successful sale.

On Saturday May 19 members of the Garden Club of Brookfield were up bright and early for their Annual Plant Sale. The weather cooperated and it was a beautiful day!

If you drove past the Brookfield Library Saturday morning you couldn’t miss the brightly colored tents and the hustle and bustle of shoppers browsing tables filled with beautiful hypertufa planters made by club members, “home grown” perennials dug from gardens around town and  a baked goods table piled high with mouth watering goodies to take home or eat on the spot. The herb booth offered herbs, recipes and growing information handouts. With the last frost just around the corner the annuals table was a favorite spot for those anxious to finally get these tender plants into the ground.

Club members would like to thank everyone who came to the sale and Candlewood Agway, Bagleman, Dunkin Doughnuts, John's Best and ShopRite for their support.

The proceeds from this sale go back to the community by way of scholarships, the care of public gardens around town and a variety of other projects. We are always happy to hear from prospective members.  You need not be an expert gardener to join. The club is about working toward the beautification of Brookfield and educating our members.
