9/11 Memorial Tribute to be held at the Ives

Ives Concert Park hosts free 9/11 tribute concert.

On September 11th, 2011, the Ives Concert Park will host a musical tribute marking the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy by paying homage to its victims, rescue workers and surviving loved ones.

The event will be held between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Ives Concert Park, 43 Lake Avenue (WCSU Westside Campus), Danbury CT 06811.

The event is Free. Parking is Free.

We encourage families and friends to please join us for this special afternoon.

The Danbury Drum Corp will perform, and many other performers will be part of the day, including the Western Connecticut State Band. Music for the day will include the National Anthem, America the Beautiful, An American Elegy, Armed Forces Salute, Taps and Stars and Stripes Forever.

The Danbury Police Department, Danbury Fire Department, and other City Agencies will be represented. Mayor Mark Boughton of the City of Danbury, and Dr. James Schmotter of WCSU will participate, and the Danbury Common Council and other local dignitaries will be in attendance.
