Results from opening week of spring season for Brookfield Athletics

Boys Lacrosse (1-1) opened the season with a 9-4 loss on the road to SWC rival New Fairfield, but they came back with a hard fought 6-3 road win against non-conference foe Brien McMahon High School.

Girls Lacrosse (2-0) gave new head coach Kary Rodgers two impressive home wins to start the season. The opener was a 17-0 blowout of non-conference foe Watertown, followed up with a 10-9 close shave against SWC rival New Fairfield.

Softball (2-0) opened the season with two non-conference road victories, getting an opening day 4-0 shutout from Kayla Berardi against Ludlowe and duplicating that effort with a 4-0 shutout of Ellington.

Baseball (1-0) began the season with a thrilling 14-8 come-from-behind victory over non-conference rival Ridgefield in a "road" game played at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport.

Girls Tennis (2-1) began the season with back-to-back road wins, getting by SWC rivals Bethel 4-3 and Bunnell 5-2.  They lost their home-opener 3-4 to Pomperaug, another SWC rival.

Boys Tennis (1-1) got a 5-2 win at home in their season opener against SWC rival Bethel and lost 6-1 in their first road match to Pomperaug.

Boys Golf (0-1) lost at home in a match played at Sunset Hill Golf Course to SWC rival Bethel by the score of 173-195.
