Vote for a Live Broadcast of Friday's Brookfield-Masuk Football Game

Brookfield at Masuk holds a narrow lead, but every vote counts.

A crew from NBC Connecticut may bring its cameras to Brookfield High School (BHS) Thursday to shoot footage of football practice and showcase the school's program before televising Friday's game between the Bobcats and Masuk, so long as they can get enough votes to stay ahead in NBC's online poll.

Voting will be open until 9 p.m. Wednesday and Brookfield is currently in the lead with 30.59 percent as of 3 p.m. Tuesday. The other potential games in contention are Berlin at Bloomfield (23.88 percent), New London at Waterford (23.56 percent) and Hillhouse at Lyman Hall (21.97 percent).

The winning game will be announced during NBC's 11 p.m. newscast Wednesday night. Voting is limited to one vote per IP address, meaning multiple votes cannot be cast from the same computer.

This would be the first time Brookfield (or Masuk) was featured in a statewide telecast.

"Anytime I see the games of the week on there, they're always in the east or center of the state," Brookfield Athletic Director Chris McDougal said. "The South-West [SWC] is a tough conference," with Masuk being one of the toughest.

"They have a great team, a great quarterback and always a good offensive and defensive line," McDougal said of the Panthers, "But we're fast. It's going to be a great battle, there's no question."

The Bobcats will take on Panthers at Benedict Field in Monroe Friday at 7 p.m.
