Coaches from area towns proudly announce the formation of Bandits Baseball Club team, a multi-town U12 baseball team. The 2012 Bandits will consist of an elite 11-member team comprised of players from surrounding counties, plan to travel the East Coast throughout the spring and summer for tournament and regular season play. The Bandit players, drafted for talent, ability and commitment, are ready to face the competition and win some games.

“We have 11 boys who are not only good baseball players, but a collection of great kids,” said Tom Price, head coach of the newly formed Bandits. “We are excited about the new journey ahead this spring and summer.”

Indoor practices began months ago and will continue outdoors, beginning in March, on Faith Church’s newly completed “Hope Field” located on the Brookfield-New Milford town line. Hope Field will serve as the team’s home field and will host about half of their 40 regular season games. To ensure their players plenty of time on the field, the coaches have enrolled the team in both Connecticut and New York State Elite travel leagues.

Founder of the Bandits Club team, Scott Droukas, stated, “I look for the majority of our kids to have strong family support and for those who do not, they will receive it from our staff. Individual accountability in young people is a must. Excuses for poor performance will not be tolerated as I want players to learn from mistakes and if necessary, take a couple steps backward to take bigger steps forward down the road.”

“Most of the time, failures are fertilizers for later successes,” Droukas continued. “I promote all the team’s experience by the 5 P’s, passion, positivity, persistence, pride and performance. By fostering the personal traits as mentioned above, it is my belief that instilling these qualities into our boys on the baseball field creates a foundation for success in any and all of their future endeavors in life.”

The Bandit’s home season will begin March 31 versus the Navajo Gators at Hope Field. The first tournament will be held April 13 and 14 at Baseball Heaven, Long Island, New York. Without question, these boys are ready to play… so take in a Bandits game this season and cheer the team victory — GO BANDITS!
