Lady Bobcats Celebrate Senior Night with Big Hoops Win

Girls basketball gets key win on Senior Night.

The Brookfield Lady Bobcats needed to win Saturday night's home game with Bunnell to qualify for the SWC basketball playoffs and came through with an impressive 54-29 victory in front of a large and loud senior night crowd.

Led by the four senior starters — Julia DePoi, Paulina Harron, Katie Layman and Courtney Morlock — the Lady Bobcats started fast with 22 first quarter points and never looked back. Their 13th win vaulted them into sixth pace in the very tight SWC standings.

DePoi led all scorers with 24 while junior Dominque Adams added 14 for BHS, who face the third seeded Notre Dame of Fairfield in the first round Monday at 5 at Pomperaug in Southbury.
