All school-aged children (entering grades Kindergarten through 6th grade) are invited to be part of the excitement as Brookfield’s only Ecumenical Vacation Bible School gears up for another year!  Each year, representatives from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and The Congregational Church of Brookfield work together to present God’s word to local children.  The theme this year is Gospel Light’s Son Rise. Son Rise  will have children  “Trekking” and “Exploring” as they “Discover the Adventures” of Jesus’ love through Bible stories, arts and crafts, and uplifting music and games, we are sure that our scavengers will take away lessons of love and memories of laughter that last long after VBS is over.Come experience the adventure at St. Joseph Church from July 9th thru 13th.  Registration forms are available at the church office, or email lisamsweeting@hotmail.com to have a form emailed to you.  Cost is $20 per child, with a maximum $45 per family.  Classroom experiences are for those children entering grades Kindergarten through 6th grade, and a CIT program (including service hours) for those entering grades 7 and 8.  Assistant teaching opportunities are available for those in high school and we are always looking for adult volunteers in other areas. Questions?  Contact one of the directors:  Lisa Sweeting, lisamsweeting@hotmail.com, Janet McGovern,  ludlowville@yahoo.com or Shana Graham at shanadan9@yahoo.com for more information. Don't forget to “Like” us on Facebook at “Ecumenical Vacation Bible School” for updates and reminders on our program!!

Its important the people learn how to treat our flag, many of our veterans have made the ultimateRead More sacrifice for our country and flag. Don't leave it out all night long, don't drag it on the ground while putting it up etc.

I would recommend supporting an increase similar to Ridgefield's which was under 2% (1.97%). If aRead More community like Ridgefield can perform at high levels with an increase under 2%, the Board of Education, in asking for almost twice that is openly admitting that they have installed inefficient management in school administration. Further, the sewer system on the referendum will require municipal funding since it is backed by the full faith and credit of the town of Brookfield and reduces the town's borrowing ability - the advertisement for which indicated it would not impact municipal funding.

So Mandarin Chinese won't be a requirement? Perhaps Manchurin Chinese? Cantonese Chinese? MongolianRead More Chinese? Which Chinese are the British speaking these days? Their empire stretched in the Hindu speaking parts of Asia but they aren't teaching Hindu. A quandry indeed.

The board of education's policy should pertain to all employees of the Brookfield Board ofRead More Education.

The short answer is because they want to. If you spent twice at much they still would. EducationRead More personnel need to be monitored on social media like Patch.

I will lend a hand by voting yes for the school budget this Tuesday, May 21st. Teachers should notRead More have to pay out of pocket for school supplies.
