Midgets Defeat Team Canada to Become International Champions

Brookfield Bobcats finish season undefeated at 15-0.

After winning the , the Brookfield Bobcats came back two days later to defeat Team Canada 46-13 in the International Bowl at ESPN/Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.  

The Bobcats jumped out to an early 14-0 lead and never looked back. Bobby Drysdale led the Brookfield attack, rushing for 216 yards on 15 carries while also scoring three touchdowns for the Bobcats. Austin Reich (12 carries for 127 yards), Andrew Collins (eight carries for 72 yards), Nick Acquanita and Kyle Madden each also added a score for Brookfield.  

For the second straight game Brookfield's offense eclipsed the 400-yard mark.

Nick Seis led a dominating defense with four tackles for a loss and three sacks, while Brendan Bray added an interception. 

The Brookfield Bobcat Midgets finished the season with a perfect 15-0 record, winning the Western Connecticut Championship, the Connecticut State Championship, the New England Regional Championship, the National Championship and the International Bowl Championship along the way.

"Our kids really stepped up these last four weeks and showed some real toughness against some big, tough kids from much larger cities," Coach Bob Drysdale said.
