Brookfield Girls Swim & Dive Continue On Strong

Lady Bobcats win final dual meet to end regular season 9-2.

The girls celebrated their Senior Night at the Dive Shop in Brookfield with a full house and a win against Joel Barlow.  All three Brookfield Senior Captains — Andrea Jelaska,   Jackie Letizia and Maddy Smart — swam great at the meet and all have shown excellent leadership this season both in and out of the pool.  

Highlights of the meet include the 200 Medley Relay Teams placing 1st and 3rd and Brookfield continued to shine in the 200 Free with Smart, Rachel Brown and Jelaska going 1, 2, 3. Sam Palicz and Anna Fernandez went 1 and 4 in the 200 IM. Steph Ferrarie swam strong for 1st in the 50 Free, followed by Katie Dixon in 2nd and Marilyn Duong.  

The Bobcats had another 1, 2, 3 finish in the 100 Fly with Palicz, Jelaska and Megan Contarino. Rachel Brown, Katie Dixon and Sam Russo went 1, 3 and 4 in the 100 Free before Maddy Smart broke the Brookfield High School Record in the 500 Free. Ferarrie and Jelaska came in 2nd and 4th

Brookfield went 1 and 2 in the 200 Free Relay and had great swims from Anna Brown, Kelly Lapin and LeAnna Murphy in the 100 Back and Ali Bowers, Letizia and Carly Palicz in the 100 Breast.  Brie Wurst swam strong in both of the 200 Relays.

The girls went on to complete their dual meet season with a final win against Oxford.  The Bobcats kicked off the meet with a 1st place finish in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Rachel Brown, Ferrarie, Fernandez and Dixon.  Sam Palicz swam to a 1st place finish in the 200 Free, Rachel Brown took 1st in the 200 IM and Ferrarie came in 1st in the 50 Free.  

Rachel Brown touched 1st in the 100 Fly while Anna Brown captured 1st in the 100 Free.   Kelly Lappin finished 1st in the 500 Free, Anna Brown was 1st in the 100 Back and Sam Palicz took 1st in the 100 Breast.  

The Lady Bobcats ended their Dual Meet Season with a record of 9-2 and are looking forward to the SWC Conference Championships. The Diving competition will be held at New Fairfield High School Thursday night, November 1 and the Swimming competition will be held at Masuk High School on Saturday, November 3.
