The Brookfield High School (BHS) boys soccer team turned back a stubborn New Fairfield team 1-0 before a large and enthusiastic senior night crowd Monday night at Brookfield stadium.
A.J. Sussingham took Kevin O'Shea's long pass and ran it into the offensive zone firing a strike from just outside the 18 to break the scoreless deadlock in the 67th minute. Fairfield University-bound goalkeeper Austin DaCunha stopped six Rebel shots recording the shutout for the Bobcats who improved their record to 8-1-6.
Pregame night festivities recognized the 15 Bobcat seniors and their parents. Making their final regular season appearance on the BHS turf were Sussingham, O'Shea and DaCunha along with Jon Leonard, Wyatt Hathaway, Nick Iacovacci, Alex DeRochie, Harris Baquai, Dan McLoone, Antonio Assante, Will Salguero, Billy Hunt, Josh Novicky, Aidan Moores and Rob Dauphin.
