Swimming

The Lady Bobcats swim team competed well at the Class M State Final November 12, swimming to fourth place without assistance from a diver, putting them behind from the start.

Lead swimmer junior Maddy Smart had a strong night, placing first and winning two individual events (200 Free and 100 Free) and earning her a spot on the All-State Team.

That brings her Class Title count up to five in her three-year high school career.

The fourth place finish was a team effort, with strong performances from Stephanie Ferrari and Samantha Palicz, who both finished in the top three in their events, which earned them a spot on the All-State Team.

Ferrari finished third in the 500 Free, with a personal best time of 5:17.82, and Palicz broke the 1:00 barrier in the 100 Back by going an amazing 59.64, finishing third overall and setting a new BHS record in that event at the same time.

The BHS 400 Free Relay team finished in second place and earned a spot on the All-State Team (the relay was comprised of Palicz, Ferrari, Smart and Anna Brown).

Monday, November 7. The team was led by junior Maddy Smart, who broke two SWC records, one she set a year earlier.
