BBD Icecats Sweep Invitational in Maine
Bethel-Brookfield-Danbury hockey goes three-for-three in High School Invitational.
The Bethel-Brookfield-Danbury (BBD) Icecats traveled to Portland, ME over the Christmas break for the annual Invitational High School Hockey Tournament and came back with three more wins on their record.
The ‘Cats opened with a 6-1 win over Cape Elizabeth, followed by a 6-0 shutout of Yarmouth and wrapped up the road trip with a 8-0 win over Westbrook to complete the sweep. Goaltenders Lou Dibble and Ryan Campbell were solid throughout while a balanced offense saw Nick Melvin and Trevor Kurjiaka score four goals each, Scott Martin and Steve Sieget three, Nick Blaska and DJ Scott two, and Billy Hunt and Steve Almeida one each for BBD.
The Icecats resume their CIAC schedule Wednesday at Newington.
