Ackell Drops the Hammer on the Competition

Christopher Ackell backs up strong showing at New England Championship with state hammer throw title.

Senior Chistopher Ackell led a contingent of Brookfield Track & Field athletes at the 2011 Decathlon/Heptathlon/Hammer Throw/Steeplechase state championship event at Willowbrook Park in New Britain by winning the Hammer Throw title.

Ackell's throw of 187-05 was more than 40 feet better than the rest of the competition as he was by far and away the champion.

Fellow Bobcat senior Alex Van Hoof placed 10th in the competition with a throw of 119-03.
