WMS Students Honored as CT Scholar-Leaders

Brookfield students honored by Connecticut Association of Schools for academics and leadership.

Two Brookfield students from Whisconier Middle School (WMS), Natalia Androsz and Steven Kawulicz, were honored as outstanding scholar-leaders by the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS). They were among 290 scholar leaders from 145 middle schools honored at a banquet on June 4, 2012 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.

The award honors one girl and one boy in each Connecticut middle school whose record of academic achievement and service is truly exemplary, whose personal standards and accomplishments are models for others and who possess high levels of integrity, self-discipline, honesty and courage.

Distinguished educator Jeff La Roux, the president-elect of the Association for Middle Level Education, was the keynote speaker for the event. The master of ceremonies was Scott Gray from WTIC News Talk 1080.
