First Huckleberry International Fest

Huckleberry students learn about the cultures of the world during International Week.

Last week, Huckleberry Hill Elementary School (HHES) students participated in International Week. Students were given the opportunity to learn about various cultures by attending one Special (art, music, gym, library) all week, where they created art projects, learned new dances and songs and played different games from around the world.

Second grade students who attended library learned about different countries of the world by creating Animoto presentations.

On the last day of International Week students were able to "travel" from country to country during the first Huckleberry International Fest. The students learned about Canada, China, Dominican Republic, eastern European countries, Germany, India, Italy, Jamaica, the Lumbee Native American tribe, Mexico, Poland and South Africa, and they had a great time doing so!

Many of the presentations, prepared by our own HHES families, were interactive and the students loved learning about many different cultures and traditions.
We would like to extend many thanks to our Specials teachers for all their hard work. Thank you also to all the parent volunteers who helped make this International Week special and the culminating festival a great success. We look forward to making this an annual tradition at Huckleberry!
