Brookfield Students Commemorate Veterans Day in School Monday
School is in session Monday in Brookfield and honoring veterans is on the curriculum.
Brookfield’s students are in school on Veterans Day, breaking with tradition for the holiday but designed to bring a stronger focus to the importance of remembering and honoring those who served.
“In order to fully engage our students in comprehending the significance of this memorable day,” Superintendent Anthony Bivona wrote in a letter to the community, “Direct participation in meaningful programs honoring our veterans contributes to a more in depth understanding of what Veterans Day truly means.”
Veterans from Brookfield and throughout the area will be attending special ceremonies planned at each school throughout the day.
