Brookfield High School CAPT Scores Slip Steadily

Proficiency scores in all four subjects have fallen slowly over the last three years.

The Connecticut State Department of Education (SDE) released the results of the 2013 Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) Tuesday afternoon, with Brookfield’s tenth grade scores slipping in all four subjects areas since highs in 2011.

Brookfield High School CAPT scores have been dropping slowly over the last three years, with science and reading scores falling below the 2007 baseline this year.


The decreases year-over-year from 2012 were relatively minor, falling 1.4 percentage points in writing, 1 point in math, 0.9 points in science and 0.6 points in reading.

Statewide scores averaged out to narrow gains in reading and writing, and a 0.1 point drop in math. Science scores rose 1.5 percentage points over 2012.
