BHS Students Take Runner-Up In PSA Video Contest

Five Brookfield High School Students were runners-up in the DMV's annual PSA Contest

A group of Brookfield High School students took first runner-up in the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles' (DMV) Teen Safe Driving Video Contest this year. Sean Leary (student director), Samuel Kelsey, Jenna Pacetto, Nicole Paladino and Ian Rajcula were honored at a special ceremony Thursday, April 8.

High school students from across Connecticut, age 15 to 18, were asked to submit 25-second public service announcement (PSA) videos, which they had to write, direct, film and produce themselves.  Teams of up to five students entered from high schools across the state.

All videos had to include at least one of three safe-driving topics: passenger restrictions, laws against talking on a cell phone while driving and laws against texting while driving (or using other mobile electronic devices). Submissions were judged based on overall impact of the message (50 percent), originality (25 percent) and cinematic style (25 percent).
