Snow, Ice Cause 90-minute Delay, Tractor Trailer Accident Tuesday

Inclement weather postpones start of school day and ties up I-84.

Due to snow and icy conditions, Brookfield schools will be on a 90-minute delay Tuesday morning, January 17.

Classes will begin at Brookfield High School at 8:45 a.m.; Whisconier Middle School at 9:25 a.m.; and Huckleberry Hill Elementary School and Center Elementary School at 10:10 a.m.

Icy conditions led to several motor vehicle accidents Tuesday, including one involving a tractor trailer that jackknifed on I-84 westbound between exits 9 and 10 at 4:30 a.m. The right and center lanes have been closed while crews work to clear the scene, according to the state Department of Transportation (DOT), which estimated that clearing the incident could take around three hours.
