Brookfield Leaders

Beware of Who's Crying Foul - Open communications are always best.

It has come to my attention that some of Brookfields leaders have taken to tweeting, posting on Facebook and even posting on the New-Times live, yet nothing has appeared here in our very own Patch.  This is the place where ideals should be expressed and shared with your fellow community.  The crux of this most recent event is the Board of Finance holding a meeting during a school break and voting on the budget that will be presented to the people of Brookfield for their approval.

The Board of Finance has acted in a totally legal and above board manner.  There are strict regulations which they must adhere to.  They have fulfilled their duty and obligation to our community.  So what is the problem you ask?  The Board of Finance exercised their duties and reduced the budget that was presented by the Board of Education and Board of Selectmen.  The mutterings by some of our elected officials is very disappointing.  Some rather inappropriate accusations have been made to a select audience to solicit a dividing factor in our community without the opportunity to participate in open discussion.

What's your opinion about our elected leaders avoiding open discussions?
