Last Day to Pay Brookfield Tax Bills

Residents and property owners have until 6 p.m. Thursday to pay their property taxes online or in person.

Thursday, Aug. 1 is the last day to pay Brookfield property taxes. Bills can be paid in either the Tax Collector’s Office in Town Hall or online through the collector’s website.

Any payments received after 6 p.m. Thursday will be considered delinquent and will be charged 3 percent interest or a minimum interest charge of $2.

Failure to receive a bill does not exempt you from the tax or the penalty. There is a $20 service charge for all returned checks.

Tax bills can be viewed and paid online through the Tax Collector’s website. MasterCard, Visa or Discover are accepted, as well as e-checks, however the online system does not take American Express.

There is a 3 percent convenience fee and $0.50 processing fee for credit cards and a $2 convenience fee for e-checks.

The Tax Collector’s Office will be open until 6 p.m. Thursday evening. Payments made in person must be by check or cash only. Debit and credit card payments can only be processed online.

Residents can also sign up for payment reminder emails on the Tax Collector's website.
