McMahon Campaign Objects to Shays 'Push Poll'

U.S. Senate

• Linda McMahon (R): McMahon’s campaign recently posted a note on her blog saying supporters statewide have complained about a push poll coming out of Chris Shays’ camp. Part of it said: “Unfortunately, Congressman Chris Shays’ campaign seems more interested in taking our Republican Primary into the mud — and is gearing up its efforts through falsehoods spread through the phones. We expect sometime this week for the Shays campaign to ‘produce’ polling numbers that differ drastically from every other survey — public and private — taken recently.”

5th Congressional

• Justin Bernier (R): Republicans can win the open seat in the 5th District “if we stand strong and show daylight between us and the Democrats on the key issues facing our country,” the Plainville resident said on the Jim Vicevich radio show, according to his campaign site.
• Chris Donovan (D): Donovan congratulated HealthyCT on receiving the federal funding needed to start up a consumer-directed health insurance company through the Affordable Care Act’s non-profit Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan program. “There are only 14 of these loans in the country right now, so once again, Connecticut is on the cutting edge of working to provide health care coverage to every family,” Donovan said in a press release.
