Health Dept Seeks Volunteers for Free Well Water Testing

The town and state are looking for more information on uranium and arsenic deposits in Brookfield.

The Brookfield Health Department, in co-operation with the State Department of Public health, is looking to provide free well water testing for levels of uranium and arsenic for approximately 20 Brookfield homeowners.

The Health Department is looking for properties situated in representative sections of town.

This study will assist the local health department and the state is assessing the distribution of these two naturally occurring water contaminants throughout the town of Brookfield.

Homeowners will be selected on the basis of geographic distribution. Although the Brookfield Health Department has accumulated some considerable data, it would like to obtain a more widely scattered sampling.

Any homeowner interested in this free testing should contact the Health Department at 203-775-7315 or stop in to the department at the Town Hall, 100 Pocono Road, any time between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays to add their name, address and contact info to the list.
