Free Well Tests Offered for Certain Areas of Brookfield

Department of Health is looking for homes on well water in specific parts of town.

The Brookfield Department of Health still has a few openings available for free uranium and arsenic well water tests.

The department is offering the free tests in an effort to identify trouble locations throughout town outside of the known areas.

Brookfield Health Director Dr. Raymond Sullivan said the town has several slots still available and is especially interested in wells in the areas of Lake Lillinonah, Nabby Road, Ironworks Hill and near the high school on Long Meadow Hill Road.

An ordinance requiring tests for uranium and arsenic before a property is transferred is currently before the Board of Selectmen.
