Campaign Notebook: McMahon Debuts New Ad

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Linda McMahon (R): The campaign released a new ad that talks up McMahon’s business credentials with the WWE, and criticizes Chris Murphy for skipping committee hearings in Congress, while also condemning a couple of his votes.

Chris Murphy (D): A shows Murphy leading by four points. A poll released from Quinnipiac University earlier this week showed McMahon with a three-point lead, so the race appears to be close.

Fifth District

The husband of Elizabeth Esty — who heads the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection — found himself in the middle of the campaign. The Register Citizen reports that Andrew Roraback demanded that Esty not accept campaign donations from the companies her husband regulates.
