Brookfield voters approved the $59 million 2013-14 budget proposal in Tuesday’s referendum, passing the municipal budget by 363 votes (1,834-1,471) and the education budget by 271 (1,791-1,520).
Advisory questions were also back on the ballot this year, with residents saying both budgets were on the high side, though almost as many voters said the municipal budget was adequate (1,305) as those who thought it was too high (1,414).
Over 3,300 ballots were cast for both budget questions Tuesday, representing approximately 34.6 percent of Brookfield’s registered voters.
Voters also approved a sewer line extension to three Brookfield condominium complexes by a margin of 617 votes.
