Swerving Leads to DUI, Prescription Drug Charges

25-year-old Brookfield resident arrested on charges of possession and driving under the influence.

An early hour traffic stop lead to a young Brookfield resident being arrested for alleged possession of marijuana and prescription drugs Tuesday.

According to police, an officer stopped Ashley Gannon, 25, of Prospect Drive, Brookfield, on Junction Road at 1:13 a.m. for failure to drive in the proper lane. Further investigation, including her failure of field sobriety tests, resulted in Gannon’s arrest for driving under the influence.

Gannon received additional charges when she was found to be in possession of various prescription pills and a small quantity of marijuana, including possession of narcotics, possession of hallucinogenic drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana.

She posted $200 cash bond and was released from custody with a court date set for October 19.
