Serious Two-Car Accident Closes Route 7 Early Tuesday

Two taken to Danbury Hospital after rollover turns into multiple-vehicle accident.

Two drivers were rushed to the hospital early Tuesday morning after a serious two-car accident on Route 7 northbound closed down the highway.

Brookfield police, ambulance and firefighters, as well as state police and emergency responders were called to the scene shortly before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, approximately a quarter-mile north of exit 11.

According to multiple reports of the incident, a vehicle traveling north on Route 7 rolled over and was subsequently struck by a second vehicle. Emergency responders arriving at the scene discovered one driver ejected from their car and another pinned beneath.

Both drivers were transported to Danbury Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
