Police Blotter: Swerving Leads to DUI

The following arrest information was provided by the Brookfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, April 1

A 9-1-1 call came in to shortly after midnight about an erratic driver traveling northbound on Federal Road. The caller described the vehicle as a white minivan.

The minivan was observed swerving all over the road by an officer, who subsequently pulled the vehicle over near 901 Federal Road. The driver, 31-year-old Bryan Giroux, of Chatfield Road, New Milford, failed the standard field sobriety tests and was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, failure to drive in the proper lane and operation of a motor vehicle while license is under suspension.

Giroux was released on $500 bond with a date to appear in Danbury Superior Court on April 10.
